1. Clever AI tools do not replace recruiter workflow
Recruiters are not going to visit your site and paste their job description into your custom tool. They have fifty other tabs open. Build for the audience that will actually use it — or frame it as a demo of your skills, not a hiring utility.
2. Black-box AI erodes trust
Asking visitors to trust an AI assessment they cannot inspect or control is a hard sell. If you build an AI feature, show your methodology — prompts, constraints, what the model can and cannot see.
3. Sparkles do not signal professionalism
Emoji and sparkle motifs read playful. For senior or staff positioning, let the work carry the tone.
4. AI keywords in job descriptions are table stakes
Every JD now mentions AI. Surfacing AI literacy on your résumé matters even if recruiters never click your portfolio tool — keyword overlap still helps ATS.
5. FAQ beats “ask me anything” alone
An AI chatbot that replaces your FAQ risks hiding information visitors do not know to ask for. Structured FAQs plus optional AI is additive. AI-only is a gamble.
